Santa is a voice assistant
Atlanta Santa is a computer program with a voice and an animated face, built to be gentle and fun, but not a person. If your child asks "are you real?", he tells the truth kindly: he is Santa's voice on a video call, made by computer helpers, and the magic part is up to your family.
What to tell your child: "That's Santa's video helper. It's a computer that talks like Santa so he can hear from lots of kids. The Christmas magic is ours to believe in together."
Your child's camera stays on your phone
Santa cannot see your child. We never send or save camera video. The call screen has a "show me, only on your phone" switch, off by default, that shows your child their own face on your screen, like a mirror. Turning it on makes your phone ask for camera permission, used only for that picture on your device. Leave it off and the camera is never touched.
The microphone
Santa needs the microphone to hear your child. When your phone asks to allow it, please be the grown-up holding the phone.
What we do not collect
- No recordings of voice or video. No transcripts tied to you.
- No names, ages, addresses, schools, grades, or emails. Santa is told never to ask.
- No accounts, no tracking cookies, no ads.
What we do keep
- A random ID saved in your browser and a scrambled copy of your internet address, kept only as codes for 7 days. They count calls; they cannot identify you.
- Simple totals, like calls and minutes per day.
Who helps run the call
Your child's voice passes through our voice-assistant company (ElevenLabs). Santa's face comes from an avatar company that receives only Santa's voice, to move his lips. Each is set not to keep recordings or use the call for anything else.
Limits and hours
4 minutes per call. Two calls per device per day. Open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern.
The gift list
Santa's workshop is the Wayoosee toy brand from Black on Black Christmas. The gift list is a link on our page and on the end-of-call screen, for grown-ups. We never text, email, or call you.
What Santa will not do
He never promises a gift will come, never says a price, never says buying something helps a cause, and never checks grades. He only encourages.
